Frequently Asked Questions
Have the herbs in PreArthos ever been used before?
All
of the herbs in PreArthos have long histories of use in traditional
medical systems like Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine
If I don’t take medications and herbs that reduce inflammation and pain will I be allowing my arthritis to worsen?
Arthritis
is a chronic progressive disease and the use of COX-2 inhibiting
anti-inflammatories will help with pain and improving overall function
but they will not modify the disease or its progression.
Is PreArthos available OTC or in Pharmacies?
No. PreArthos is not available either over the counter or in pharmacies. It is only available by mail order from PreEmptive Meds, Inc.
How do I save $66 by ordering a 3-month supply?

The Company is pleased to offer a huge discount (of $66) for this option, as it helps the Company build its credibility and reputation of ever increasing numbers of satisfied patients with proven clinical success. Will PreArthos cure my arthritis?
Presently
there is no cure for arthritis. The goal of treatment is to reduce
symptoms like pain and stiffness and improve the function of affected
joints.
Can PreArthos be used with other treatments for arthritis?
Yes.
PreArthos has been designed with the recognition that patients will
probably already be on other treatments. However, you should still
consult your doctor before starting any new medications or herbs.
What are the side effects of PreArthos arthritis treatment?
While
the combination of substances present in the whole herb versus
isolation of one chemical constituent does have potential for a
decrease in side effects, all drugs, even over-the-counter medications,
have potential side effects. Your pharmacist or doctor will provide
more specific information about side effects based on your medical
history and the combination of medications you may be taking. Contact
your doctor if you are experiencing problems.
How many capsules should I take a day?
IMPORTANT DOSING INFORMATION:
• Take one capsule in the morning and one at night.
• Not necessary to take with food.
• Allow 10-12 hours between the two daily doses.
• If you miss a dose, take two capsules next dose.
• Consult your doctor before stopping PreArthos.
Can weather affect my joints and the symptoms of arthritis?
Weather
clearly affects people with arthritis and their symptoms but studies
have been inconclusive as to the causes. For instance, barometric
pressure has been shown to effect arthritis but in some it is high
pressure and in others it is low pressure.
I have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), will PreArthos make it worse?
PreArthos
was designed as an alternative to some of the more common arthritis
treatments which definitely do affect reflux and gastritis. However,
every person reacts differently so if you do experience problems
contact your doctor.
Will PreArthos increase my risk of cardiovascular disease?
While
all drugs, even over-the-counter medications, have potential side
effects, PreArthos was designed in the hopes that a combination of
herbs with known benefits to cardiovascular health would decrease the
risks of an adverse cardiac event. Your pharmacist or doctor will
provide more specific information about side effects based on your
medical history and the combination of medications you may be taking.
Contact your doctor if you are experiencing problems.
Why did your doctor recommend PreArthos or PreArthos +?
Medical treatment of arthritis has been limited to the use of
Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID's) such as aspirin,
ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®), and naproxen (Aleve®) and COX-2 inhibitors
such as Celebrex®. While effective, all these drugs have large and
potentially dangerous cardiovascular and gastro-intestinal side-effects.
PreArthos
and PreArthos+ are all natural, twice-daily therapeutic formulations of
synergistic botanicals, which collectively reduce inflammatory pain.
They contain several plant-based COX-2 inhibitors, which also have
cardio-protective functions, besides being protective on the stomach.
What is Glucosamine?
Glucosamine
is a compound found in the body and is made from glucose and the amino
acid, glutamine. Glucosamine is needed to produce glycosaminoglycan, a
molecule used in the formation and repair of cartilage and other body
tissues. Production of glucosamine slows with age. In osteoarthritis,
cartilage -- the rubbery material that cushions joints -- becomes stiff
and loses its elasticity. This makes the joint prone to damage and may
lead to pain, swelling, loss of movement, and further deterioration.
Since the body's natural glucosamine is used to make and repair joint
cartilage, taking glucosamine helps repair damaged cartilage by
augmenting the body's supply of glucosamine.
Does Glucosamine work?
Glucosamine
research discussed below speaks to its ability to decrease
inflammation, increase production of beneficial proteogylcans, and it's
ability for immunomodulation.
•
May 2002 the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in cooperation with
sixteen Universities and medical centers, including Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center, released the results of the Glucosamine/Chondroitin
Arthritis Intervention Trial (GAIT) demonstrating statistically
significant pain relief compared with placebo in patients with
moderate-to-severe arthritis pain.
Is PreArthos Safe?
Balanced by natural components found within the ingredients in
PreArthos, cardiovascular risks can be decreased.
•Curcumin, Rosemary, and Oregano demonstrate the ability to inhibit
platelet aggregation thereby decreasing clot formation. Rosemary itself
is considered a cardio-tonic with circulatory benefits and has been used
for high blood pressure.
•Chinese Goldthread (1-4) is good for arrythmias. Studies on Berberine
in Chinese Goldthread suggest in can protect the heart from ischemic and
reperfusion injury as well (2-4)
•Ginger is a potent circulatory stimulator via its
vasodilatory properties (3-4) and has been
reputed to have blood thinning and cholesterol
lowering effects (4-4) Resveratrol from the herb
Hu Zhang can increase the heart healthy nitric
oxide that is depressed in a high cholesterol
diet and can inhibit coronary plaque building
thrombin (5-4)
How can I get reimbursed for the product cost?
Check
with your Employer if you have an FSA. A Flexible Spending Account
(FSA) is one of a number of tax-advantaged accounts that is usually set
up through a cafeteria plan by an employer in the United States. An FSA
allows an employee to aside a portion of his or her earnings to pay for
qualified expenses as established in the cafeteria plan, most commonly
medical expenses, including paying for preventing diseases as well as
dietary supplements, which are being recommended by physicians and for
specific disease conditions.
The plan allows for
reimbursement of out-of-pocket health expenses from money deducted from
an employee’s pay check before federal, state and FICA taxes are
deducted. Other common terms are HSA (Health Savings Account) and HCRA
(Healthcare Reimbursement Account). This program allows for substantial
tax savings, thereby paying for the product from those savings.
Most
US employers allow employees to participate in an FSA type plan and
usually allow up to $4000 per year. Some Employers also contribute into
the FSA plans.
Can I defer payments?
YES. With the 3-month supply option, your payments are deferred into three equal monthly installments of $42.95 for PreArthos and $49.95 for PreArthos + after your first 3-month supply
How can I cancel my order?
When you choose the 3-month option, your PMI product will be automatically delivered to you every 3 months in order to facilitate compliance with your treatment and to ensure clinical success. IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL you must call 1-888-PRE-MED-1 (1-888-773-6331) at least 8 (eight) days before the end of the current 3-month cycle
